BHE held its 2018 Instant Health Data (IHD) User’s Conference on Wednesday, March 14th at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Real-world evidence (RWE) managers and IHD users attended from over a dozen life science companies and payers, representing about one-half of all companies licensing IHD. These researchers regularly use IHD to undertake high-quality, RWE analyses.
IHD is an intuitive software platform that enables organizations to perform rapid, in-depth analyses using a variety of large healthcare databases. Publishable-quality analyses that had taken weeks or months to complete can now be done in a matter of hours. The platform was developed by BHE experts in information technology, health outcomes research, epidemiology, and medicine. BHE provides IHD as software-as-a-service (a SaaS solution) for life science organizations, payers, and research groups to enhance productivity and gain actionable insights more rapidly than ever before.
Conference presentations covered a wide array of topics of special interest, including incorporating rapid analytics into a company’s workflow, best practices, and tips for applying novel IHD product features. Life science company researchers also presented several published or ongoing studies performed with the IHD platform. These focused on the “patient journey”, treatment patterns, and propensity-score matched comparative effectiveness analyses, along with other topics.
Hundreds of data analysts and researchers use IHD regularly to perform studies in support of internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and the research community. The latter includes presentations of findings at professional conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals. IHD users usually have training in biostatistics, outcomes research or pharmacoepidemiology.
